Tibber Cookie Policy

We use cookies on our websites and our app (collectively, "Services"). Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer system when you visit a website.  In order to facilitate access to our services and for statistical analysis and to ensure that the services function as expected, we store several cookies permanently on your terminal device. As a rule, this information does not directly identify you. However, they can provide a personalized web experience.

Most browsers allow the use of cookies by default. If you do not want cookies to be stored on your terminal device, you can adjust the settings in most browsers and set general or special permissions for storing cookies. At this point, you can also delete cookies that are already stored on your terminal device. If you decide not to accept cookies, you can use the services, but their functionality is limited.

1. Session cookies

We use "session cookies", also called temporary or transient cookies. Session cookies remain in your browser only for the duration of your visit to our services. They are only used to identify you while you are using our services. At the end of each session the session cookies are deleted. No further use is made of them.   Session cookies are absolutely necessary for the function of our services and cannot be deactivated in our systems. As a rule, these cookies are only set in response to actions taken by you which correspond to a service request, such as setting your privacy settings and logging in.  The use of these session cookies is based on Art. 6 paragraph 1 lit. f. DSGVO.

2. Google Analytics

2.1 We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies. The information generated by the cookie about your use of our services is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, if IP anonymization is activated in your services, your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other states which are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On our behalf, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the services, to compile corresponding reports and to provide us with further services related to the use of services and the use of the Internet.

2.2 The IP address transmitted by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics is not combined with other data from Google.

2.3 You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of the services to their full extent. You can also prevent the collection of the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website/app (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

2.4 We use Google Analytics with the extension "_anonymizeIp()". This enables us to process IP addresses in a shortened form, thus making it impossible to identify a person. If the data collected about you contains a personal reference, this is immediately excluded and the personal data is therefore deleted immediately.

2.5 We use Google Analytics to analyze and regularly improve the use of our services. We can use the statistics obtained to improve our services and make them more interesting for you as a user. In exceptional cases in which personal data is transferred to the USA, Google has subjected itself to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.

2.6 The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f.  DSGVO.

2.7 Third party information: Google Dublin, Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, Fax: +353 (1) 436 1001. user conditions: http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html, privacy policy: http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.

3. Personalization cookies

Personalization cookies allow the user to access the service with some general characteristics, predefined in his computer or defined by the user, such as language, type of browser used to access the service, design of the selected content, regional configuration from where the service is accessed.  These cookies are used to understand the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and improve your online experience with Tibber.

3.1 Google Ads

3.1.1 Our services use Google Ads (remarketing/conversion tracking). Google Ads is the online advertising program of Google.

3.1.2 We use the remarketing function within the Google Ads service. With the remarketing function we can present users of our services on other websites within the Google display network (on Google itself, so-called "Google Ads" or on other websites) with ads based on their interests. For this purpose, the interaction of the users of our services is analyzed, e.g. which offers the user was interested in, in order to be able to display targeted advertising to the users on other pages after they have visited our services.

3.1.3 We also use the so-called conversion tracking. When you click on an ad placed by Google, a conversion tracking cookie is placed on your computer. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to compile conversion statistics for us. According to its own statements, Google does not merge the data collected in the course of remarketing with your personal data, which may be stored by Google. According to Google, pseudonymization is used in remarketing.

3.1.4 Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection with the Google server. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by Google through the use of this tool and therefore inform you according to our state of knowledge: Through the integration of Google Ads Conversion, Google receives the information that you have called up the corresponding part of our website or clicked on an advertisement from us. If you are registered with a Google service, Google can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, it is possible that the provider will find out and save your IP address.

3.1.5 You can prevent participation in this tracking process in various ways: a) by adjusting your browser software settings accordingly, in particular by suppressing third-party cookies, so that you do not receive any advertisements from third-party providers; b) by deactivating cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to refuse cookies from the domain "www.googleadservices. com" domain, which will be cleared when you clear your cookies; c) by disabling interest-based ads from providers that are part of the About Ads self-regulatory campaign through the link http://www.aboutads.info/choices , which will be cleared when you clear your cookies; d) by permanently disabling them in your Firefox, Internet Explorer or Google Chrome browsers through the link http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin. We would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this offer to their full extent.

3.1.6 The legal basis for the processing of your data is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a DSGVO.

3.2 Facebook Pixels

3.2.1 We use the so-called Facebook pixel of the social network Facebook, which is operated by Facebook Ireland Ltd, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland ("Facebook"), as part of our services.

3.2.2 With the help of the Facebook pixel, Facebook is able, on the one hand, to determine you as a visitor to our services as a target group for the display of ads (so-called "Facebook ads"). Accordingly, we use the Facebook Pixel in order to display the Facebook Ads placed by us only to those Facebook users who have also shown an interest in our services or who have certain characteristics (e.g. interests in certain topics or products determined on the basis of the websites visited), which we transmit to Facebook (so-called "custom audiences"). With the help of the Facebook pixel, we also want to ensure that our Facebook Ads correspond to the potential interest of the users and do not have a harassing effect. The Facebook Pixel also enables us to track the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes by seeing whether users are redirected to our services after clicking on a Facebook ad (so-called "conversion").

3.2.3 The processing of data by Facebook takes place within the framework of the Facebook data usage guidelines. Accordingly, general information on the display of Facebook ads can be found under the link https://www.facebook.com/policy.php. Facebook is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement and thus offers a guarantee to comply with European data protection law.

3.2.4 The use of the Facebook pixel as well as the storage of "conversion cookies" is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. We have a legitimate interest in the analysis of user behavior in order to optimize both our website and our advertising.

3.2.5 You can object to the collection by Facebook pixels and use of your data for the display of Facebook ads. To set which types of ads are displayed to you within Facebook, you can go to the page set up by Facebook and follow the instructions on the settings for usage-based ads.  The settings are platform-independent, which means that they are applied to all devices, such as desktop computers or mobile devices. You can also opt-out of the use of cookies for audience measurement and advertising purposes by visiting the opt-out page of the network advertising initiative.
